We have ZERO TOLERANCE for harassment of any kind, be it physical, verbal, or sexual. BSidesNH is open everyone who is willing to adhere to this Code of Conduct regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, political affiliation, and other methods of categorization. Period.
We strive to create an environment that encourages the free and open sharing of ideas. It is impossible to keep the free and open sharing of ideas without risking someone getting their feelings hurt. This is not a buttoned-up, corporate event, but we do expect you to be respectful of our space and our other invited guests.
We cannot outline all acceptable and unacceptable behaviors ahead of time. At a certain point we (the organizers) have to analyze behavior in real-time and determine whether or not it adheres to the spirit of our Code of Conduct. If you are engaging in bad behavior (e.g. heckling or haranguing speakers, etc.), you will be given a warning that your behavior is not acceptable. If you continue, you will be asked to leave.
Unless, of course, your bad behavior is so egregious that it warrants immediate ejection from the conference. (e.g. initiating a physical altercation, attempting to defraud the conference or the venue, or creating an unsafe environment for others).
If someone is engaging with you in a way that makes you afraid or uncomfortable, please inform a member of our staff so that it can be handled accordingly.
If you have any questions about this policy or want to offer recommendations to help make it better, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
